Chase Pollard is Jess Archer’s best friend. They’ve known each other for years and he always has her back, even if he does tend to burst in on her in the bathroom (cute when they were little…now, more annoying/creepy).
Still, no one could ask for a better partner in crime – or rather, in solving crime.
Chase is also, somewhat inexplicably, a bit of a ladies’ man. He charms them with his goofy confidence, but unfortunately the relationships usually go south rather quickly and end in stabbings [Chase’s note: That was one time!] [Ed. note: That’s still one time too many].
In summary, Chase is the Watson to Jess’ Holmes, the Constable Reggie to her Inspector Spacetime …and kind of a man whore [Chase: Hey!] [Ed. note: Jess’ words].
Just who is our protagonist?
Jess Archer doesn’t like people. In fact, she might agree with the immortal words of Roy from The IT Crowd:
But there is one person that she likes, and that’s her best friend Chase Pollard. He’s her very own Watson, and she’s never happier than when they are hot on the trail of a mystery together!
Lifelong friends, they are engaged in a constant debate over whether The Phantom (Chase) or The Shadow (Jess) is better – which tends to look something like this:
…And they love to cosplay at the local WonderRamaCon.
Even though Jess professes to hate people, there’s no better person to turn to if you’re in trouble. She can’t resist a mystery, loves solving puzzles, and won’t stand idly by when she sees injustice!
